Wedding gifts

wedding

Congratulations on your engagement and thank you for thinking of us!

Whether you want to honour those you have served with or to say thank you to those who have given so much for their country, helping people in real need as a part of your wedding day will make it even more special.

Step 1 - Tell us about it

Let us know about your wedding and we can provide you with some ABF wedding gift advice if you need it. Please email or telephone Sarah Coleman-Meyer: scoleman-meyer@armybenfund.org or 0845 241 4831.

Step 2 - Let your guests know

Sometimes the hardest part of letting your guests know what you would like them to do, is thinking of the right way to phrase it. Here are some ideas:

"We are looking forward to your presence at our wedding, rather than your presents, so as an alternative we are asking any guests who would like to do so, to make a donation to the Army Benevolent Fund, the soldiers' charity."
"The traditional wedding gift list is provided to allow wedding guests help newly wed couples set up home. As we have lived together some time, we are instead asking our guests to make a donation to the Army Benevolent Fund, the soldiers' charity."
"We would be delighted if you would like to make a donation to the Army Benevolent Fund, the soldiers' charity as a wedding gift to us. We have all we need, now that we have each other."

Here are some details about the charity to add:

"The Army Benevolent Fund provides support to serving soldiers, former soldiers and their families in times of need. The people they support include those with disabilities or mental illness, people experiencing homelessness or unemployment, and older people."

Step 3 - How do you want guests to donate

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you need any help or advice. Thank you for your support. We wish you a happy day.
