A team of Welsh Guardsmen cycled, kayaked and ran more than 1,300 miles across Europe raising more than £19,700 for the Army Benevolent Fund, and £15,000 for other charities including SAMA 82 (Wales).
Ten athletes from the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards completed an endurance triathlon that took them from their Theatre of operations in Bosnia, back home to their base in London. The event raised vital funds for the Army Benevolent Fund, South Atlantic Medal Association and Everyman.
The team set off from Bosnia on St David's Day, to cycle 1,200 miles to France before kayaking across the English Channel and running the equivalent of three marathons in three days before reaching their London barracks on 31 March.
After taking part in the commemorative 25th Anniversary Remembrance Service of The Falkland Island Campaign on 17 June, the team then cycled to Bangor. The route wound its way up the length of Wales, visiting schools, youth clubs and cadet forces.
