The West London Shooting School hosted the Inner London Committee’s Clay Pigeon Shoot in September, providing a grand day out and helping to raise over £2,500 for the ABF.

The Suffolk & Norfolk Yeomanry Old Boys receive
the Tamlyn Trophy from Col Roger Tamlyn MBE
QHS FRCS after once more coming first in the
Team Competition
Twelve teams took part, including a team from the Royal Hospital Chelsea, four officer cadets from Sandhurst, a contingent of Army officers and wives known as the Pink Ladies and four-times winners, the Suffolk and Norfolk Yeomanry Old Boys. After 90 minutes of individual shooting at various targets, the event became more competitive as the flush filled the air with shot and smoke.
Volunteers Veronica Scott, Celia Webb-Carter and Buffy Ross served a delicious lunch, sponsored by Rathbones and with provisions also from Georgie Knaggs and Fanny Rickett. Lunch was followed by the announcement of the results and prize-giving.
The Tamlyn Trophy for the winning team went, not surprisingly, to the Suffolk and Norfolk Yeomanry Old Boys for the fifth time and members of the team took away a Hunter Flask kindly donated by William Evans Ltd. The individual competition was won by Officer Cadet Daniel Reed who was presented with a leather cartridge bag donated by William & Son, and a hip flask given by Swarovski Optik.
The ABF would like to thank all those who gave their time to take part in and who contributed to this very successful event. They are very grateful to those who, in addition to those already mentioned, gave prizes: the Al Fayed Charitable Foundation, Clay Shooting Magazine, Ray Ward Gunsmiths Ltd, The Really Useful Group Ltd, the Union Jack Club and the West London Shooting School; and to Cobra Beer Ltd who donated the much–needed refreshment before lunch.
