The runners celebrate their
achievement
Six pupils from Bryanston School in Dorset travelled to London on 3 July, to take on the British 10k and raise hundreds of pounds for the ABF.
George Pearson, a 17-year-old pupil at Bryanston and a keen long distance runner, wanted to run the 2005 10k race and at the same time use the opportunity to raise money for a charity. He decided that the ABF, which was kind enough to offer him, and five school friends, places in the run, would be an entirely appropriate cause as both his grandfathers had fought in the British Army in WW2 and more distant ancestors in the Boer War and World War One.
As they ran through the streets of the capital in their red ABF shirts, the students were accompanied by legendary film music such as the Dambusters, to mark this year’s commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the end of World War Two.
The ABF is immensely grateful for the huge effort that the boys put in and congratulates them for their achievement.
