On Saturday 8 March 2008, The Suffolk Concert Band and the Orchestra and Choir of St Joseph’s College, Ipswich, are giving a concert at the College in aid of the ABF. This will be the first time that these two groups of local musicians will have played together.
The Suffolk Concert Band is an acclaimed local ensemble, and traces its origins to the Suffolk and Cambridgeshire TA Band in the 1960s. The Band will be performing under its Director, Roger Jones. St Joseph’s College has very kindly agreed to host this event – and the College Orchestra and Choir will be performing, both separately and with the Suffolk Concert Band. The College musicians will be performing under the Director of Music, Dr Christopher Tinker.
The proceeds of this concert go to the Current Operations Fund. It is the ideal opportunity to support the Army’s own charity, especially as soldiers of the Royal Anglian Regiment have just returned from a successful, but dangerous tour in Afghanistan.
